We are writing to inform you that morico (T.sax & keys), who has been taking a break from the band to be a mother, will be leaving the band.
Since last April, we have been playing as a 5-piece band.
Though we were in contact with oneanother regarding how things were during her pregnancy, neither of us had the opportunity to sit down and talk about our future together.
After giving birth, morico and the rest of us talked about our situations and goals, and came with this conclusion.
We apologise to everyone that was waiting for her return to the band.
Ever since forming in 2003 at our middle school in Osaka, we have never lost a single member, going through everything together as a 6-piece band.
We are 27 now, and are happy that we’re able to send her off to her new direction for a positive reason: to become a full-time mother.
During her absence, we took the time to look deeper into our identity as a band, and succeeded in finding new styles and new ways of thinking.
With this as a turning point for the band, and with love and respect to morico for giving us this opportunity and moving forward in her own life, Oreskaband will be working harder than ever to reach new goals.
Please stay tuned for our future live shows and new songs on the way!
In order to focus on being a mother, I have decided to leave Oreskaband.
I have become a mother last month, and this is a positive decision based on the future of the band and myself.
Being a member of the band for about 12 years, Oreskaband was a very important part of my youth. I experienced so many things through the band, and met people that changed my life.
I want to thank the band members, all staff and supporters, and all of our fans from the bottom of my heart.
I feel very bad for the incredible fans that looked forward to my return to the band.
However, as a mother, I am looking forward to seeing my child grow, and will devote my time for my family to be filled with smiles every day.
As my band members always stayed by my side to support me, I will continue to support the band as a friend, and as a fan with all of you.
I’ve been taking a break from the band since March. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell everyone the exact reason until now.
I’m pregnant with my first baby, and will be getting married next month.
I’m gonna do everything I can to be a good mother for this baby.
I don’t know when I’ll be able to return to the band, but for now, I’ll be focusing on the family.
Oreskaband is the reason why I was able to meet so many wonderful people and have amazing experiences over the last 12 years.
Each band member is so unique, each with different skills and talents, kind of like a soccer team.
This band is so lucky to be able to play shows around the world, supported by incredible fans.
Thank you for all your support. I won’t be in this band for a while, but please continue to support this world-class Oreskaband.
